Black mold was visible in basement laundry room below upstairs apartment (I had no previous experience with mold so I didn’t know that’s what it was). Not long after moving in, I began experiencing symptoms that align with mold toxicity (brain fog, rash on legs, insomnia, constipation, etc.). A local remediation company determined it was indeed black mold. I relayed information and a visible leak found under the kitchen sink to the landlord and he simply painted over the black portion of the wall in the basement. I stated I would be seeking a legal resolution and he insisted I end my lease and move out. Time in unit was 5 months in 2025.
